Lenten Carbon Fast 2010

With Lent beginning February 17th, what might you be giving up for the season?   Instead of (or in addition to) withdrawing from candy, alcohol, caffeine, etc.

Why not undertake a fast from carbon?

Franciscans for Earth will be undertaking their own carbon fast this Lent and invite you to do the same.  We’ll be following and acting upon a Lenten Carbon Fast calendar that is from the Archdiocese of Washington.  (Go to the link below.)  For each day on the Lenten calendar there is a suggestion for fasting for carbon.  Consider printing for yourself the 2 page copy of the calendar, hang it on your fridge or dresser, follow it throughout the 40 days and see what a meaning-filled Lenten time (and beyond) you will have!  Easter Hope will be even more real for you and the planet this spring!
